How to Use Etsy Stats to Grow Your Shop

October 5, 2026 · Etsy-Calc.com

Your shop data is telling you exactly what to fix

Every view, click, favorite and sale in Etsy Stats is a clue. Most sellers check the numbers, shrug, and go back to making. But the sellers who read the data correctly find problems before they cost money - and fix them fast. Here's how to use Etsy Stats like a pro.

The core metrics explained

MetricWhat it tells you
ImpressionsHow often your listing appeared in search
ViewsHow often shoppers clicked in
FavoritesHow often shoppers saved it
OrdersSales per listing
Conversion rateViews that became orders

Diagnose with the funnel

Think of it as a funnel with four levels. Each problem shows up at a different level:

Low impressions

Your listing isn't showing in searches. The problem is SEO: weak keywords, missing tags, bad categories. Fix the title and tags. See Etsy SEO guide.

High impressions, low views

Shoppers see you in search but don't click. The problem is usually the thumbnail photo or price. Improve the first image. See photo guide.

High views, low favorites

Shoppers look but don't save. The listing may be unclear on details, or the price is off versus value. Improve the description and check pricing.

High favorites, low orders

Shoppers save it but don't buy. Often price or shipping cost. Compare with competitors and re-check your margins with our Etsy fee calculator.

Use the search-term report

Etsy Stats shows the exact search terms that brought impressions. This is gold:

Compare time periods

Compare this month to last month (and year-over-year):

Favorites and reviews as signals

Checklist: your monthly stats review

  1. Which are your 5 best listings? Understand why
  2. Which listing has the worst conversion? Diagnose it
  3. What search terms worked? Add more
  4. Did anything change since last month? Keep or revert
  5. What's the seasonal trend? Plan ahead

Frequently asked questions

How do I see my Etsy stats?

In Shop Manager, click "Stats" (or "Analytics"). It shows views, visits, orders, revenue and search terms.

What's a good conversion rate on Etsy?

It varies, but 1-3% of visits converting to orders is typical. Low conversion usually means price, photos or details need work.

Why do my impressions suddenly drop?

Could be seasonality, expired listings, or Etsy's ranking changes. Check your stats over time and re-optimize weak listings.

Etsy Stats is free and honest. Impressions reveal SEO problems, clicks reveal photo problems, and orders reveal pricing problems - fix the right level and the numbers follow.
